Agrifirm storage pool mirrors stock market price

The storage pool for yellow seed onions has completed the season at Agrifirm Plant with a slight advantage – excluding the member benefit – compared to the average fair price in Emmeloord. The result is €16,50 per 100 kilos. In this way, the pool creates a price floor, especially in a declining market.

Result above last season
For delivery week 12, the result is €16,50 per 100 kilos this season. There is also a member benefit of €1,25 per tonne for those who are a member of the cooperative. The pool has a duration from week 50 to week 17 (December to April). Last year the result of the storage pool for yellow seed onions was €14,90.

Stable in declining market
The custody pool does exactly what a pool does: resources in the market. At the start of 2021, the stock price and pool price were almost at the same level. The revival did lead to a higher price level, but you will of course not see the peak in the pool. At the same time, it protects participants against the price drop that started in March. The difference then rises to €3,43 between the stock exchange listing and the pool.
