Britain continues to amaze all the way

It has been noticed before, but in week 23 Great Britain also manages to attract attention in the onion market in a positive sense. The total export figure makes it clear that the finish of the 2020/21 season is in sight.

Based on preliminary information, the export figure for week 23 is 11.750 tons. Based on subsequent information from previous weeks, the period weeks 18 to 22, a volume of 3.457 tons has been added to the total. This brings the total export figure for the 2020/21 season to 1.166.169 tonnes, which is a weekly average of 23.323 tonnes. Compared to last season, the lead is still 8.128 tons. This season seems to be heading for an all-time export record.

For sales in week 23, it was again the British who pulled the export cart with a purchase of 2.374 tons. They were followed by Ivory Coast with 1.751 tons and Guinea with 1.626 tons. Germany followed Guinea at a distance of 1.107 tons and purchased 519 tons of Dutch onions. In week 23, the onions were sent to buyers in 60 countries.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1625065875)}}
