Onion sales revive in week 27

Week 27 shows a good export result for onions, especially if this is measured against the weeks preceding it. Week 27 is still included in the export result for the 2020-2021 season, which means that the difference with last season has increased.

The provisional export figure for week 27 is 12.901 tons. Compared to week 26, this is an increase of more than 4.000 tons. Based on subsequent information, the total export result for the 2020-2021 season has increased by 3.019 tons. The provisional score is 1.214.772 tons, an advantage compared to the 2019-2020 season of 29.149 tons.

Ivory Coast, Great Britain and Gambia are mainly responsible for the export result. They purchased 4.437 tons, 1.822 tons and 1.369 tons respectively. This is followed by Mali and Guinea with 810 tons and 663 tons. A total of 52 countries purchased onions, with Iraq closing ranks with the purchase of 1 kilo.
