Slowly there is more demand for onions on the market. The export figure of the second export week of this season shows this. It is again the British who appreciate the Dutch onions as the largest buyer.
Great Britain will also emerge as the largest buyer in the second export week of the 2021/22 season based on preliminary information. This concerns a volume of 2.338 tons, which means that the British have already purchased 4.542 tons of Dutch onions in the new season. That is 801 tons more than in the same period last season and 757 tons more in the previous season.
Ivory Coast has a taste for it
Ivory Coast has now also got a taste of it with 1.913 tons and was the next in volume with this decrease. The total stands at 2.833 tons, compared to 2.259 in the period weeks 28 and 29 last year and 1.987 tons in 2019. Guinea purchased 1.349 tons, raising the result to 2.513 tons.
The export figure in week 29 is provisionally 10.993 tons and, together with subsequent export information of 355 tons, results in an export total of 18.570 tons, with a weekly average of 9.285 tons. {{dataviewSnapshot(2_1628760092)}}
