Onion export is getting better and better

The export of onions is getting more shine every week. The first deliveries to Senegal are now also visible. The preliminary export figure of week 32 pushes the weekly result to the top 4.

The first export week with more than 20.000 tons is a fact with the provisional figure of week 32 this season. Responsible for this are mainly African buyers, led by Ivory Coast, which purchased 5.507 tons of onions and has already purchased 17.342 tons of Dutch onions this season. Guinea opted for second place with 2.799 tonnes, pushing the export result to 9.217 tonnes.

The British are the stable factor with a decrease of 2.493 tons and are cumulatively in second place with a volume of 11.963 tons. The second European country in size was Sweden, which purchased 520 tons of onions. With 354 tons, the Germans ranked third among European buyers.

For the first time, Senegal will appear this season. Every year, the opening of the Senegalese border is eagerly awaited. In the run-up to this, some onions are being sent to Dakar, because you can only be the first. The volume exported to Senegal in week 32 amounts to 777 tons.

The export figure for week 32 is currently 23.151 tons, which means that 79.265 tons of onions have already been exported this season. Compared to the previous 2 seasons, the best result for the period weeks 28 to 32.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1630498236)}}
