Onion export in week 46 has a golden edge

The 2021/2022 export season has entered a second week with an export of more than 40.000 tons. What does this mean for the total export result?

The export figure for week 46 (based on preliminary information) is 43.518 tons. This means that for the second time this season we have achieved a result above 40.000 tonnes. It is also the best week of this season. And, last but not least: the best week 46 ever. In addition, the cumulative export result has been increased by 2.553 tons due to subsequent information. This concerns information about the period from week 40 to week 45. The total export figure is 583.517 tonnes. The weekly average from week 28 to week 46 is 30.711 tons.

Senegal's largest customer
The largest contribution was made by Senegal, which purchased 8.046 tons of onions from the Netherlands. The total export figure therefore rises to 109.112 tons, which is 1.863 tons higher than last season. Ivory Coast was close on Senegal's heels - with 7.817 tonnes - and pushed the total export result to 97.602 tonnes. That is 14.686 tonnes more than last season over the comparable period. Mali imported 4.825 tons of Dutch onions, accounting for a purchase of 30.580 tons this season.

With 3.384 tons, the Philippines was the next largest buyer, followed by Great Britain with 2.655 tons of Dutch onions. In total, customers in 86 countries were supplied with Dutch onions.
