Good export result on onions, but is it also a record?

The preliminary export figure of onions delivered in week 49 shows a neck-and-neck race between Senegal and Ivory Coast. The total result for this week is again more than 30.000 tons. What does this mean for the total result and what is the difference with last record year?

The latest export figures for Dutch onions announced today show a new leader and that is Ivory Coast. With 6.646 tons, Ivory Coast trumped Senegal, which purchased 6.466 tons of onions. The cumulative counter for Ivory Coast now stands at 112.418 tons and for Senegal at 129.676 tons, measured over the period week 28 to week 49. Compared to last season, Senegal purchased 5.815 tons fewer onions, in contrast to Ivory Coast, which purchased 13.297 tons more. decreased. Great Britain is in third place with 3.367 tons, followed by Mali and Guinea with 2.465 tons.

The provisional export result for week 49 is 33.646 tons. The volume of export information provided for the period weeks 44 to 48 is 78 tons. This brings the total export result for this season to 688.968 tons. Last year that was 695.883 tons. The weekly average is 31.316 tons.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1640768572)}}
