Ivory Coast, Great Britain, Malaysia, Guinea and Mauritania were the main drivers of the export of Dutch onions in week 3. The countries mentioned purchased 4.243 tons, 3.390 tons, 2.031 tons, 1.917 tons and 1.856 tons of onions respectively. The cumulative export count of Ivory Coast is 135.924 tons, compared to 117.796 tons last season and 94.415 tons the year before. Ivory Coast is clearly accelerating this season.

No Brexit effect on onion imports
Great Britain also scores positively this season with a sub total of 78.721 tons, compared to 57.449 tons last season and 49.405 tons in the 2019/2020 season. There is no question of an import decline as a result of Brexit. Customers in Guinea are also doing well. Up to and including week 3, 50.280 tons of onions have been exported to this African country, where last year the counter remained at 37.689 tons.

Lead is increasing
Based on preliminary information, 23.044 tons of onions were exported in week 3, to buyers in 87 countries. The smallest volume went to a buyer in the Maldives: 3 kilos. The average weekly export volume is 31.105 tons. Subsequent information indicates an export volume of 290 tons. This brings the export result for this season to 870.953 tons, which is 16.200 tons more than last season, which is 5.570 tons more than the lead based on the export figures up to and including week 2.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1644400803)}}
