Stock of carrots paralyzes the free market

Everyone is trying to get rid of their own stocks and there is therefore almost no demand in the free market. However, quality remains decisive and has a downward effect on prices because it is offered under pressure. This also applies very much in Poland, insiders say. Everything has to be processed quickly there. This could be the bright spot for the rest of the season for carrots in the Netherlands, which store well. There is currently little reason to believe that the market will rebound any time soon. This is certainly not expected in the coming weeks.

At current prices, with very little trade, the DCA quotation for B-carrot drops slightly, especially at the bottom. The DCA quotation for carrots for week 6 is €6 to €12 per 100 kilos. The same actually applies to the price of C-peen. On average, this is lower due to supply from inferior parties. The DCA quotation for this week is €6 to €10 per 100 kilos. That is €0.50 lower than last week. Grof continues to rank among the finer parties.
