With a provisional export figure of 16.243 tons, onion exports in week 11 do not have the appearance of a top performer. But when the total (from week 28) is kept in mind, the export result becomes more impressive. The postal export information did not amount to much at 87 tonnes - over weeks 9 and 10. The total export figure now stands at 1.036.276 tons, which is equivalent to 28.785 tons per week. The lead over last season now amounts to 53.890 tons. That is 2.830 tons higher than the lead that emerged last week.

The British are the biggest buyers
Just like in week 10, the British were the largest buyer in week 3.143, with a purchase of 11 tons of onions. The total quantity that Great Britain has purchased this season (from week 28 to week 11) is 103.406 tons. That is more than 35.500 tons more than last season over the same period. Israel took second place (with 1.825 tons), bringing the seasonal decrease to 9.317 tons of onions. One season earlier, the country purchased 20.744 tons of Dutch onions.

Guinea signed for 1.337 tons, Malaysia for 1.138 tons and Sierra Leone for 1.138 tons. It was striking that Ivory Coast was missing in week 11 in the list of customers who purchased more than 1.000 tons. Ivory Coast did not exceed 470 tons, giving a cumulative export result of 156.252 tons. That is approximately 19.500 tons below Senegal's result.
