Onion export remains relatively good

Onion exports are still going strong at the end of the season. The export figure in week 24 was even slightly higher than a week earlier.

In week 24, 13.221 tons of onions were exported. That is more than 450 tons more than a week earlier. That is quite remarkable for this phase of the season. Usually, exports gradually decrease towards the end of the season. Another 22 tons was added to the total of the period from week 23 to week 106, based on additional information. The weekly average thus far amounts to 25.852 tons. This brings total exports this season to 1.266.749 tons.

Two countries purchase more than 2.000 tons
Two countries bought more than 2.000 tons of Dutch onions. For Guinea the counter in week 24 stands at 2.267 tons and for Great Britain at 2.092 tons. Ivory Coast follows at some distance with 1.686 tons. Ivory Coast and Great Britain are also among the biggest buyers this season with 175.000 and 139.000 tons respectively.
