Onion export: a game without staples

With the export figures of onions from week 31, the report of the fifth export week of this season has already been made. The results are similar to a game without staples.

Based on preliminary information, the export figure for week 31 is 20.180 tons. Based on subsequent information for the period week 27 to week 30, the previously published figures were increased by a total of 699 tons. That puts the cumulative export result at 90.154 tons. This means that the current season is 18.285 tons ahead of the previous season and 28.255 tons ahead of the previous season. An average of 18.030 tons of onions are now exported per week.

As the largest importers in week 31, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Great Britain, Mauritania and Guinea were largely responsible. The five countries mentioned purchased 4.342 tons, 4.302 tons, 2.750 tons, 1.810 tons and 1.107 tons of onions respectively.
