Despite all expectations based on the relatively high onion prices, the demand for onions is not suffering. With the provisional export figure for onions from week 32, the Netherlands is again showing a wonderful showpiece.

From week 32 onwards, the export of Dutch onions to Senegal will have an impact. With a purchase of 7.910 tons, this country leads the list of largest onion buyers. Ivory Coast takes second place with 4.796 tons. The British managed to take third place with an import of 2.793 tons. Malaysia and Guinea signed for 1.720 tonnes and 1.374 tonnes respectively. These five are also the only countries that purchased more than 1.000 tons in week 32.

Subsequent information from the previous export weeks shows that the previously announced export figures have been increased by 2.906 tons. Partly because of this, the cumulative export result up to and including week 32 stands at 118.470 tons. The average result over the period weeks 27 to 32 of the last twenty years is 74.892 tons, with the 2017/2018 season coming closest to this season with 106.658 tons.

Customers from 67 countries
The customers in week 32 came from 67 countries. The queue of buyers was closed by Japan with a purchase of 2 kilos. On average, 19.745 tons of onions have been exported per week so far.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1661938327)}}
