The latest export figures for onions still show good demand and sales for Dutch onions. The lead is not made up.
It is Ivory Coast that is at the helm in week 38 when it comes to the export of Dutch onions. Based on preliminary information, exports amount to 4.759 tons. Cumulatively, 49.524 tons have been taken off by the Ivorians. Senegal was the number 3.434 with 2 tons, closely followed by the British with 3.427 tons. In total there were buyers from 11 countries who bought more than 1.000 tons of onions, that is 25.971 tons.
As a result of subsequent information for the period from weeks 31 to 37, the export total increased by 477 tons. The export counter stands at 318.816 tons, which is an average of 26.568 tons per week. The lead compared to last season for the period from weeks 27 to 38 is 29.088 tons, which is 3.240 tons more than last week and means a large week lead.
