Onion export figures are running and standing still

The export figures of onions this season do not really show a line of stability at a high purchase level. The jerking movements seem to be characteristic for this season.

Based on provisional figures, onion exports in week 44 amounted to 31.089 tons, while in week 43 more than 40.000 tons were added and in week 42 the counter remained stuck at more than 29.000 tons. The lead over the previous record season was therefore almost zero again and amounted to 1.454 tons.

On average, 28.861 tons of onions were exported this season, resulting in a total export of 519.500 tons. Based on subsequent information, the previously published figures have been adjusted by 75 tons.

The export figures for week 44 were given substance by the good demand from merchants from Ivory Coast. Together they purchased 6.449 tons of onions. On the 2e Senegal ranks third with 3.957 tons and the British come in third place with a provisional purchase of 3 tons. The 3.544 countries mentioned also form the cumulative top 3 in a slightly different order. In that case, Senegal with 3 tons is ahead of Ivory Coast, which purchased 88.424 tons. Buyers in Great Britain purchased 83.725 tons through week 44. A total of 50.882 were included in thise export week, the onions were exported to buyers in 78 countries.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1669299382)}}
