The onion export continues steadily. The most recent export figure certainly does not show a peak, but you can certainly not call a week with more than 30.000 bad.
Onion exports in week 45 amounted to 31.601 tons. This makes exports almost equal to those a week earlier. This brings the weekly average to date to 29.011 tonnes, and the export of week 45 is above that. A total of 551.220 tons of onions have now been shipped from the Netherlands this season. This means that the narrow lead over the previous record season has now changed to a small deficit of 3.249 tons.
Senegal was the largest buyer of onions in week 45 with 5.789 tons. Ivory Coast follows at some distance with 3.648 tons and in third place is Great Britain, which purchased 3.557 tons of Dutch onions. Iraq and the Maldives are at the bottom in this week's export figures. Both countries purchased 30 kilos of onions. Senegal has purchased slightly fewer onions so far this season compared to the past two seasons. The counter for 2022/23 stands at 94.153 tons, compared to 101.066 in 2021/22 and 100.284 tons in 2020/21.
