In week 39, 37.005 tons of onions were exported, according to figures from KCB/GroentenFruit Huis. Last year this week, 28.786 tons were exported. Incidentally, the five-year average is 37.225 tons. This season, exports will therefore remain just below that.

There are some shifts in the list of largest buyers this week. Senegal and Ivory Coast are by far the most important buyers, good for 6.120 and 5.415 tonnes respectively in week 39. Guinea follows in third place with 3.287 tonnes. Great Britain is not in the top three for the first time in a long time, but we find it in fourth place with 2.271 tonnes. In total, the Dutch onions went to 81 different countries.
