In week 40, 29.559 tons of onions were exported, according to figures from KCB/GroentenFruit Huis. That is more than 7.000 tons less than in week 39. Ivory Coast and Senegal are neck and neck at the top. Ivory Coast imported 5.294 tons of onions from the Netherlands and Senegal 5.224 tons. Great Britain is a long way behind in third place with 2.057 tons.

The counter for the total Dutch onion export up to and including week 40 now stands at 323.753 tons. That is 2.000 tons more than last season. The export is certainly not bad, but no records are being broken either. In 2020, 2021 and 2022 more onions were exported during this period. The average weekly export has only exceeded the five-year average three times this season so far.
