In week 8, 18.281 tons of onions were exported, according to figures from KCB/GroentenFruit Huis. That is below the 20.090 tons of week 7 but above the five-year average of 16.467 tons and well above last year's export this week, which was 14.293 tons. In total, 940.251 tons of onions have been exported so far this season.

Great Britain was the largest buyer of the Dutch onion exporters with 2.493 tonnes. Great Britain is closely followed by Ivory Coast, which was good for 2.264 tonnes. In third place is Guinea with 1.572. Not all onions go far away, by the way. France, Belgium and Germany are also in the export top 10 this week.
