In the Dutch carrots from storage, there is almost finished. Not that all the washers have stopped yet, but most have enough work stock to continue singing for a while. All in all, not enough for DCA Market Intelligence to still note carrots for this season.
All in all, the current sales season ends with a DCA listing of B-carrots of €14. This makes it the second lowest closing price of the last five years. This means that the carrot year harvest 2024 can be called a relatively poor year in terms of price development, with few upward outliers.
Little by little, there is more supply of carrots from the new harvest from Southern Europe. Yields are generally good there and some insiders indicate that some exporters from the south are really pushing hard to get the carrots out. Every week they are putting the carrots on the market more sharply.
In the Netherlands, there are no longer large quantities of carrots in the cold store for which a new owner has yet to be found, but there is still supply. There is practically no trade anymore. Growers ask around €40 to €50 per crate, but washers indicate that they are not enthusiastic about this.
No listing
Only coarse carrots are still being sought by some, but they are not or hardly offered. Due to a lack of transactions, DCA Market Intelligence, like the Emmeloord stock exchange, has not been able to compile a quotation for this week.
