In week 21, 11.226 tons of onions were exported, according to figures from KCB/GroentenFruit Huis. The export volume is slightly lower than the previous week, which means the downward trend is cautiously continuing.

In total, 1.168.895 tonnes were exported this year. Despite the downward trend of the past few weeks, this is still the second largest amount of exported onions in the period up to and including week 21. Only in 2021 did more Dutch onions cross the border up to and including week 21, namely 1.225.190 tonnes.

Ivory Coast again the largest importer
The country that most Dutch onions went to in week 21 was Ivory Coast. In total, this country imported 1.896 tonnes of onions, leaving Great Britain behind for the second time in a row. Great Britain had to make do with second place, with 1.394 tonnes of Dutch onions. Ivory Coast and Great Britain were the only two countries that received more than 1.000 tonnes of Dutch onions. Germany rounded out the top 21 in week 3 with a volume of 574 tonnes of imported onions.
