What would you like to know about agricultural politicians from The Hague just before the elections to the House of Representatives, which will be held on 15 March? Jaco Geurts, spokesperson for agriculture and horticulture on behalf of the CDA in the House of Representatives, will visit the studio of Boerenbusiness.

According to Geurts, the preservation of MH is crucial

In recent months, Geurts has repeatedly made himself heard in various areas of the agricultural sector. For example, Geurts argues for the preservation of MH in the onion sector† Geurts has also made himself heard several times in the discussions about derogation. According to Geurts, the CDA stands right in front of, next to and behind the farmers. "They take care of our food, safety and quality," he said in a statement letter sent in.

Environmental topics are also in Geurts' area of interest. 'Today, agricultural and environmental policy is often based on gut feelings and suspicions instead of factual substantiation', the CDA member said in January during the handing over the report 'Ammonia in the Netherlands, some critical scientific comments'.

Boerenbusiness TV Politics will discuss Dutch agricultural policy in a diptych with the politician. In the second episode, reader questions are addressed. Do you have a burning issue that you would like to present to Geurts? Ask your question below this article. The editors will make a selection and your question may be included in the interview.

Why does an organic farmer have to sell cows in 2017 to keep the derogation when he has NO derogation at all????????

When will the bureaucracy finally be less? and also the meddling of the dairies over or with everything not related to milk? Of course these boys also have to be paid from the milk money before they reach the farmer!!

Another kind of question. Why do people who live in the countryside have to pay 8 cents excise tax when using LPG? That is not the case in Belgium.
This gas is already more expensive than the gas from the national gas.

Why is the nitrogen excretion of a dairy cow in the Netherlands much higher than the surrounding countries? In some countries, the standard is almost half. Then you no longer need a derogation? Or is the same corruption at play here as with ammonia?

Why was CDA against the introduction of the registration certificate while the entire sector was in favour.

Why should not derogation dairy farmers bleed (by means of a ministerial regulation sector plan of the elite (rabo, lto, top men, head of board rfc, etc.) to maintain derogation? because of this, because they are allowed to keep fewer cows per hectare 170 kilos of nitrogen per hectare instead of 230-250 nitrogen per hectare from animal manure and the market prices of milk, nukas and beef fall due to the more production space of the derogation!!!!!

With a ban on the use of GMOs, I think we will be lagging behind in the long term and perhaps already now compared to countries outside the EU. (England will soon be too.) Isn't it time to offer opportunities there if problems can be solved by using GMO varieties in agriculture and horticulture?
Paul 1 March 2017
In recent years there have been quite a few misinterpretations (policy) by the government but also LTO. Both look at each other so who makes the first move. The question then is who is the watchdog of the sector now?
You can no longer respond.
