Due to social pressure

Aldi Süd demands lower glyphosate use from suppliers

6 March 2017 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 7 comments

Aldi sud has sent a letter to the suppliers of its own branded products urging them to reduce the use of glyphosate. Non-profit organisation Foodwatch got hold of that letter and published it. According to the organization, the measure is the result of social pressure on the use of the herbicide.

of the EU limit can only be used

In brief states that Aldi Süd is taking measures to reduce the glyphosate content in its own brand products. There is already a legal limit within the EU, but Aldi wants to keep a much lower amount. Twenty percent of the current yardstick.

According to Foodwatch, the action is the result of social pressure on the hot topic of glyphosate, which is a problem for organizations in Europe. Aldi itself writes in support that glyphosate may pose health risks, damage to the environment and its use is controversial now that glyphosate is permanently in the spotlights of the media. Foodwatch itself calls for a total ban on glyphosate.

Beautiful Aldi no longer buys anything from America. With GMO, the Glyphosate amount is more than double.

A great opportunity to enter a distinctive market. Craftsmanship becomes mastery.

A great opportunity to distinguish ourselves. Will the market, instead of holistically managed firms, ultimately determine what we get on our plate? Craftsmanship becomes mastery again.

That they immediately stop using illegal Poles.
Maybe we should demand that if they want products any longer.

Aldi is all about social pressure regarding glyphosate
to cope.
As an arable sector, we must arm ourselves well against this social pressure, we can forget about NKG without glyphosate.
LTO also has a task to conduct this discussion, and the disadvantages of GMO crops with a lot of input of glyphosate on the crop compared to conventional ones where no glyphosate is on the crop but is used before crop emergence.

Why would NKG not be able to do without glyphosate?
Are we addicted to this drug and can't we think differently?! Come on, possibilities abound, you just have to learn to think for yourself without your GBM advisor!
