In 2016, the Netherlands exported 10 percent of agricultural exports to the United Kingdom. Statistics Netherlands reported this on Tuesday.
The value of the export of Dutch product to the United Kingdom (UK) is 19,7 billion euros in 2016. 31 percent (6,1 billion euros) of the total export value is accounted for by agriculture. Meat has the largest share, namely 1,1 billion euros. In 2016, 15,4 percent of Dutch meat exports went to the UK, making it the second largest buyer of Dutch meat, especially chicken and pork. Only Germany imports more Dutch meat. The share of grain that goes to the UK is 10,1 percent. Dairy and eggs is only 3,7 percent.
Agricultural products are by far the most important export product to the UK. This puts the UK in third place among the most important export countries for Dutch agricultural products. Only to Germany (24,2 percent) and Belgium (10,4 percent) did the Netherlands export more agricultural products. Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports this in the quarterly publication commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
