Which new MPs have a peasant heart?

On Thursday afternoon, March 23, the House of Representatives met for the first time in its new composition. Of the 150 MPs, 71 new faces will start working there. Which of them has a peasant heart?

1. Maurice von Martels
   The rising star among peasant politicians is Maurits von Martels (56) who, thanks to more than 21.000 preference votes is in fourth place. The dairy farmer from Dalfsen has a company with more than 100 dairy cows. He was previously a councilor and alderman in that municipality.
2. Tjeerd de Groot
   D66 member and agricultural specialist Tjeerd de Groot (48) has been director of the Dutch Dairy Organization since 2010. Before that, he was a policy officer at the Ministry of Agriculture and political assistant to Minister Brinkhorst. After that he was a diplomat, among other things. On Thursday it was also announced that De Groot step back as director of the NZO to serve in the House of Representatives for D66.
3. Arne Weaver
   Of the 12 new VVD members, one has a hint of affinity in the green sector. Arne Weverling (42) comes from an entrepreneurial family. His father and grandfather had a landscaping business. Two brothers now run the family business. weaver gained fame with the production of OOG; Business Under Glass. A business TV program about doing business in the Greenports. He has been an alderman of the municipality of Westland since 2009.
