Which municipalities are embracing sugar beet?

31 March 2017 - Herma van den Pol

Earlier, the European Union already said goodbye to the milk quota. Now the end of the sugar quota is also in sight. On September 30, 2017, the time has come.

The abolition, in combination with the current sugar market, mainly provides room for growth. Various municipalities also recorded a growth in acreage between 2011 and 2016. The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) outlines in a new Top 5 where this growth took place.
