CDA doubles the number of agricultural spokespersons
The results of the elections can be heard in the political arena. For example, the CDA is doubling the number of agricultural spokespersons. Jaco Geurts will continue to account for the lion's share. Who will be the other agricultural spokespersons?
Jaco Geurts and Maurits von Martels will represent agriculture together on behalf of the CDA. Geurts says it is 'great' that reinforcements have arrived.
Geurts will be responsible for the dossiers on agriculture, fisheries, nature, rural policy and shrinkage. In addition, he continues to take care of water and environmental topics related to agriculture.
von Martels will cover the subjects of greenhouse horticulture, crop protection, biotechnology, animal welfare (not production animals), animal testing, hospitality economy and tourism. For Infrastructure and the Environment, he will focus on rail, the environment (then no agricultural subjects), external safety and biofuels. In addition to these components, sports are also featured on his resume.

Maurits von Martels may be a new face, but most parties keep their trusted agricultural spokespersons. Helma Lodders will remain responsible for agriculture, nature and food quality and the pension system on behalf of the VVD.
Elbert Dijkgraaf will continue to speak for the SGP, Esther Ouwehand for the Party for the Animals and Rik Grashoff will remain the agricultural spokesperson on behalf of GroenLinks. An official agricultural spokesperson has not yet been appointed at D66, but it is already clear that Tjeerd de Groot will take a seat at the meetings. It seems that D66 chooses to appoint several spokespersons.
