With the intended acquisition of the compound feed company Bacutil in Poland, Agrifirm is taking a step towards the top 3 of largest compound feed companies in the Eastern European country. The Polish competition authorities still have to approve the takeover.
On 30 June drew Agrifirm entered into an agreement with the Polish compound feed company Bacutil from Bedlno Radzyńskie, Eastern Poland. The purchase will only become final after approval by the Polish Competition Authority. The takeover fits within Agrifirm's strategy. The company wants to expand its core activities compound feed, arable farming and horticulture and specialties. Growth in Central and Eastern Europe is an important issue.
Only poultry
Bacutil focuses mainly on the poultry sector. It produces compound feed for broilers and laying hens. Due to the spread of different locations, Agrifirm has an almost national coverage in one fell swoop. It is present in all major production areas. The plant in Eastern Poland has a capacity of 100.000 tons per year. It employs 50 people for that purpose.

According to John Dortmans, director Agrifirm Central and Eastern Europe, the company has been very successful in recent years. Through acquisition and organic growth, the company is steaming into the top 3 of Polish compound feed factories. The Dutch aspire to further expand animal feed production in the future.
