Capital in land and buildings

Nearly a fifth of millionaires are farmers

12 September 2017 - Esther de Snoo - 11 comments

Most working millionaires in the Netherlands are farmers. Statistics Netherlands states that 19% of millionaires are employed in agriculture and have more than €1 million in equity. They do not have this capital in their account, but is for the most part in land and other real estate.

On January 1, 2015, there were more than 20.000 farmers in the Netherlands who own more than €1 million in assets. That is 19% of the total number of millionaires in the Netherlands. This means that agriculture has a relatively large number of millionaires. This is because the agricultural sector has a relatively large number of independent entrepreneurs, who have a large part of their assets in the company.

That's right.
What are we whining now.
Be happy then you still have something when you are 65.

I owned 60ha without a mortgage.
When I was 30 years old after my father passed away.
The best man had covered every mortgage with insurance.
Currently unaffordable

Publishing this data is a preparation for the abolition of the agricultural exemption.

And of payment entitlements or subsidies, whatever you call it. Keep the millionaires at the subsudit trough, it couldn't get any crazier.
