Ban on glyphosate in France increasingly real

France is increasingly moving towards a ban on glyphosate. The government wants to gradually phase out its use for all applications. According to press statements, the drug should no longer be used after 2022.

Monday, September 25, spokesman Christophe Castaner said the ban will take effect before the end of the government's term in 2022. Private individuals can no longer purchase the drug from 1 January 2019. Agriculture would be next in line for a ban in mid-2022, but a subsequent press statement said nothing more about a timeline.
