A minister of climate

'Strike by Minister of Agriculture'

11 October 2017 - Wouter Baan - 12 comments

Most likely there will be no Minister of Agriculture in the Rutte III cabinet. On the other hand, the Minister of Economic Affairs will also become Minister of Climate. The AD reports this on Wednesday morning.

Half a day later, the newspaper reports that according to 'insiders' Is there a minister of agriculture? takes a seat in the Rutte III cabinet. Previously reported Boerenbusiness all that it it is very likely that a minister of agriculture will be appointed. In the last week, Rutte will present his new ministerial team.

According to the AD, in the Rutte III cabinet, certain departments are headed by 2 ministers for the first time. Two ministers will be appointed to the posts of Security and Justice, Public Health and Education. As a result, there is no room for a separate Ministry of Agriculture, as the CDA wanted.

The CDA has reportedly not yet accepted the decision. Discussions will continue this week and a decision will be taken.

Buma, Pechtold and Segers remain in the House of Representatives

White smoke at the end of October
It is very likely that Rutte will be appointed as formateur after the debate on Thursday 12 October. From then on, he will be busy filling the ministerial posts. Next week the House will be in autumn recess.

In the last week of October, the new cabinet will probably be officially inaugurated and the new ministers will appear on the platform.

Ruth III
Rutte III will probably consist of 25 ministers, of which 16 ministers and 9 state secretaries. Rutte had never before had so many ministers under him. Pechtold (D66), Buma (CDA) and Segers (ChristenUnie) are not taking a seat in the cabinet, but remain party leader in the House of Representatives.

This message is an update.

What a rocky area

CDA is already abandoning the farmers
Next vote not to the CDA

Do you see how reliable politics is? The most important sector of the Netherlands ; agriculture and horticulture will not have its own minister. Making a good impression with 'the second food exporter in the world', but a little specific attention and political support - government policy can't go wrong.
Bah!

I think that by now we will all know that there is only 1 party left that really understands the farmers and wants a minister of and for agriculture, namely the SGP. let's take this into account in future elections.

They don't understand agriculture in The Hague anymore, so they walk around it with a big bow.

Same here in Flanders, food has become something marginal.
You can only wish them hunger.
Farming is only tolerated until they need your land for their wealth, then you are simply chased away.
Ton Westgeest 11 October 2017
If you see how farmers / power-hungry in boards of dairy, LTO, NZO, dairyNL etc. deal with colleagues and make all senseless rules and idiotic demands, how can you want to be taken seriously by politics????
Look what a mess it has become in the livestock industry in the past year.... No one wants to burn their hands on that!
