The province of North Holland is making €2 million available for innovations in agriculture. This was announced by the province on Thursday 19 October.
"With this subsidy, Noord-Holland agricultural entrepreneurs must maintain their lead in the field of innovations that ensure fewer emissions and less use of raw materials," said Jaap Bond, agricultural deputy of the province of Noord-Holland.
Future proof agriculture
Of all the surface in North Holland, 61% is intended for agriculture. The subsidy is intended to ensure future-proof agriculture. Farmers with innovative ideas can receive a subsidy for the development, testing and preparation of innovations that contribute to a better environment, public and animal health, climate resilience, landscape quality and/or biodiversity.
Examples include techniques that ensure energy savings, less subsidence in peat meadow areas and/or less use of pesticides.
Apply for a subsidy
The subsidy can be applied for by partnerships. An application can be submitted from 30 October 2017 to 31 January 2018 via the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
Previously, the provinces also Utrecht and South Holland already know that it made subsidies available for agricultural innovations.
