Carola Schouten, Minister of LNV, does not need to draw up an action plan for more supervision from the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) regarding manure fraud. The motion by Niko Koffeman (PvdD) was rejected today, Tuesday 28 November.
A majority of the Senate voted against the motion: ChristenUnie, CDA, VVD, PvdA and D66. Paul Schnabel (D66) said in a statement ahead of the vote that he believes the extra budget of €25 million is sufficient to improve supervision.
No plan of action
Koffeman submitted a motion for more supervision from the NVWA on manure fraud. Schouten would have to make a plan, so that capacity problems at the NVWA can no longer be a reason not to prosecute fraud.
