Collective Drone Workers organized their second meeting at the Agrofood Cluster in Emmeloord on Friday 19 January. 2 new members and 1 prospective member were presented. The collective also states that new software should make it much easier to convert data to task cards.
Boerenbusiness wrote before about the expansion of the team, then it was about Jaco Gerritsen from Beemster Drone and Richard Kunis from CWV Barlo. In addition, chairman Christel Thijssen introduces a new prospective member: Jacob van den Borne. The aim of this is to achieve better national coverage.
Job Card Generator
One of the novelties that Dronewerkers presents for the 2018 season is the task card generator, developed by Dronewerkers member Bert Rijk. "A farmer has not become a farmer to work with software and computers. We hope to make this easier by converting data into task cards in simple steps," says Thijssen. "Precision farming takes time, energy and perseverance. This is a new step."
"The collective has now scanned 31.500 hectares at home and abroad," continues Thijssen. "The average plot size is 20 hectares, which amounts to 1.457 flights. By working together, we are strong for the future."
Farmer's dates
"There are still major challenges for precision agriculture," says Michiel Pouwels of contractors' organization Cumela. "There are various parties in the Netherlands that generate data, but they cannot be combined with each other. The exchange between tools and business management systems is also not yet optimal. Another tricky point is the ownership of the data and the revenue model behind it. we firmly believe in this: the data is and remains from the farmer."New software should make it easier to convert data to task cards.
