Arable farmers on the land after night frost

6 February 2018 - Niels van der Boom

After a few degrees of night frost, the soil is hard enough to carry out soil preparation, such as cultivating or plowing, without lubrication. Due to the extremely wet autumn and winter, there is a backlog of work.

Last night the mercury dropped to a few degrees below 0. In the east of the country even to -5 degrees. Light to moderate frost is also expected in the coming nights. The sunny winter weather quickly thaws during the day. That is why the early hours are used to be able to do something.
