Cosun beet price is EUR 45,62

Royal Cosun's average beet price for the 2017 campaign is €45,62 per ton of average quality. The cooperative will announce this on Wednesday evening 7 February.

The average quality is based on a sugar content of 16,63% and a recoverability index (WIN) of 90,9. The base price is €47,25 per tonne for beets with a sugar content of 17% and a WIN of 91 (last year this was €44 per tonne).

The quantity of beets to which this price applies increased to 6,8 million. In 2016, that number was 5 million tons.

The average beet price for the 2017 campaign is €45,62.

Higher results
In 2017, Cosun realized a higher turnover and higher result than in 2016. The increase was mainly due to Suiker Unie, which benefited from higher sugar prices in the first half of the financial year.
