The poultry of a company in the area is also culled as a precaution, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority reports. What should be done with other poultry farms in the area is still being investigated.

About 2 weeks ago there was bird flu detected at a poultry farm in Oldekerk (Groningen). The national curfew is still in effect. This was instituted at the end of 2017, after bird flu was diagnosed at a duck farm in Biddinghuizen (Flevoland).
