GroenLeven, market leader in the development of solar roofs and solar parks, and BayWa are starting a collaboration in the Netherlands. The companies have set up a joint venture and 30% of the shares are for GroenLeven.
BayWare is active worldwide in the renewable energy sector and has 1.300 employees. In the joint venture, GroenLeven will continue to operate under the GroenLeven brand name and the company will acquire 30% of the shares of the new BV.
BayWa must support GroenLeven to realize the extensive portfolio of (SDE+) projects. The joint venture has 5 gigawatts of solar energy projects in the pipeline over the next 2 years. BayWa reports that the transaction still has to be approved by the competition authorities.
More agricultural projects
Earlier this month FrieslandCampina and GroenLeven announced that they joint solar panel project double in size. Instead of 416.000 solar panels at 310 farmers, there are now more than 800.000 solar panels at 654 farmers.
GroenLeven also realizes solar parks on agricultural land, which is necessary to comply with the European targets† "We mainly try to use the lesser grounds and corners for solar parks. We are also looking at double use by, for example, letting cattle graze under the solar panels," says Maarten de Groot, spokesperson at GroenLeven.
