Ministry decision

Lodging obligation partly lifted on Friday

27 March 2018 - Anne Jan Doorn

Minister Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) has announced that the incubation obligation will be partially lifted from Friday 30 March. The cancellation applies to 6 of the 20 regions.

In the east of Overijssel, Gelderland and Brabant and throughout Limburg, poultry can go outside again from Friday 30 March. The condition for the abolition is that the bird flu situation in the Netherlands remains unchanged. For the other regions, the screening and confinement obligation remains in force.

No risk
The confinement obligation will be withdrawn for the above regions, because they pose little or no risk of the introduction and spread of bird flu. A regional reduction will also be considered and a new assessment is expected in mid-April.

The transport ban that was set Due to bird flu at a poultry farm in Oldekerk (Groningen), it will also be withdrawn on Friday 30 March.
