Stock inventory VTA

More free potatoes in storage

8 May 2018 - Anne Jan Doorn - 17 comments

More than 52% of the potato harvest had been delivered in April, according to VTA's stock inventory. This means that approximately 10% less has been delivered, compared to the 5-year average.

However, more potatoes were delivered (in absolute tons). However, the fact that more has been delivered cannot prevent that there are still 34% more potatoes in storage (compared to last year).

More free potatoes in storage
54% of the stock in storage has been sold. In addition, 23% of the potatoes are free in storage, which means that there are currently more free potatoes in storage (compared to previous seasons). In the last 5 seasons this share was around 10%.

VTA expects an increasing price difference between the unprocessable batches and the good quality potatoes. This is because the quality leaves much to be desired for many parties.

And thank you VTA for the final push the market needed to go all the way down this year. Disband that club.

I have no problem with people publishing this, but do they also want to publish the different varieties? Nobody wants those rotten challengers and bintjes anymore .... how many free agria? How much free fontane? How many free marquis...
25 cent 8 May 2018
yes I still have agria who is bidding

In a difficult year like this, the vta members still have a lot at the end of the day. Demand is more; how many good ones are there left?!, mediocre quality that can't put much pressure on the sentiment.

Die Binten is still going, unfortunately the processing industry hardly needs them anymore, but they can be processed for everything. Die challengers is a disaster, especially with those invisible internal defects, such as hollow, and so-called rust. Never plant again.

What is the stock excluding the poorly baking bintje and challengers that either have to go into the feed or the fermenter. These batches also fall beet de fries listing. So how many fries-worthy potatoes are left!
David 13 May 2018
there are very few left, that's why this listing is neither side nor outrageous
