Trek church sign mandatory from 2025

15 November 2018 - Anne Jan Doorn - 1 reaction

Agricultural vehicles must have a registration number by 2025. This is what Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen (Infrastructure and Water Management) writes in a letter to the House of Representatives.

The registration of tractors and mobile machines must be introduced because of the APK obligation. This should have been active in May 2018, but that did not work because the regulations surrounding the tractor license plate were not finalized. The European Commission has reprimanded the Netherlands for this.

From the moment that the bill will come into effect, a registration requirement applies to the new agricultural vehicles. A transition period up to and including 25 December 31 applies to vehicles that are not faster than 2024 kilometers per hour (and do not use the central exemption desk).

Costs
The RDW will arrange and also check the registration. The costs per registration are €18. The MOT obligation applies to all agricultural or forestry tractors (vehicle category T), with a construction speed higher than 40 kilometers per hour. Vehicles that do not enter the public road are exempt from the obligation and therefore do not need to be registered.

Trailed equipment with a construction speed lower than 25 kilometers per hour is also exempt from registration. This also applies to vehicles that are exempt from the T driving license and other vehicles, such as truck-mounted forklifts and fruit trains.

Maximum speed increased
Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen also writes that the maximum speed for agricultural vehicles will be increased: from 25 kilometers to 40 kilometers per hour (where the maximum construction speed allows this). The towed equipment may only travel 40 kilometers per hour if a registration number is used.

There will be a central counter for the registration of exemptions; as for the width exemption. As a result, an exemption can be granted per vehicle for all roads, instead of per road manager. Agricultural vehicles receive 1 number plate on the rear of the vehicle.

finally .... a solution for many border farmers in the Netherlands! now we can immediately more easily get a width exemption in Belgium because they do not understand there that a license plate does not exist in the Netherlands and do not accept their license plate number from the Netherlands.
You can no longer respond.
