Minister Schouten just doesn't get enough

28 December 2018 - Anne Jan Doorn - 9 comments

From the Boerenbusiness Poll has shown that Minister Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) is just not getting enough. The majority of the 1.726 voters give Schouten an insufficient.

The average report mark for the minister is 5,1. It is slightly unsatisfactory, although the majority (56%) of the voters give her a 5 or lower. About 44% gave Schouten a 6 or higher, and therefore a pass.

Divided reactions
At least as interesting are the reactions. A frequently heard response is that the minister does not earn a serious insufficient, because she is doing relatively well within the set frameworks. This is also caused by the situation that her predecessors left behind.

However, there are also critical reactions. These are mainly about the fact that the minister should have done more for the pinched and the preservation of neonicotinoids† The response also shows that the minister should do more to reduce regulatory pressure.

Can you see how relative a poll is. Says little.

A five is still too high, I cannot remember a minister who wrongly called so many agricultural entrepreneurs fraudsters and then refused to apologize when the facts turned out to be completely different. This action does not fit with the Christian Union.

Yes, it will be Sunday again soon, so they can continue clean afterwards.

You would only belong to the 92% of the population who are responsible for their own actions.

yes the voters against are the rascals among us and that, as it turns out, are about half don't be so pathetic with all of us what happened WE all brought it upon ourselves What Carola was doing was saving the derogation and deserved there them a big 8 for!!

Think that for many the end of the derogation is a step in the right direction with regard to manure policy.

How long can a Nlto still declare that a livestock farmer on the same plot of maize can supply more phosphate, etc. than his colleague arable farmer.

the ban on neonicotinoids is a great shame. And is completely against sustainable agriculture. Her attitude in this matter makes her agriculture minister unworthy.

Yes, those so-called agricultural-friendly parties are making a mess of it!
There is a party with now 2 people in the 2nd chamber that simply has in its program that the Netherlands should cherish agriculture, if only because of the positive contribution of billions to the budget!
This party also clearly shows how they voted on motions in the 2nd chamber! That is open democracy. Quite different from that swaying of CDA, VVD de Cu together with Popi Jopi D66.
