A young potato crop is vulnerable. The rapid growth of the leaves and stems makes the crop sensitive, which means that phytophthora can spread very quickly. A product that grows with the new foliage can prevent this.

Last year was mostly dry and warm, so phytophthora was not a problem. That could be very different this year, prompted by the weather and the emergence of new ones more aggressive tribes† Don't let this year surprise you and apply the right strategy to spawn phytophthora early on.

The WUR has conducted trials in Lelystad to determine the best strategy for preventing phytophthora. The tests showed that a good start to the season is essential for optimal control and that no mistakes should be made during this period. A good start in the first half of the season translates into less illness later in the season.

Good protection
Revus always provides good protection and recent research by WUR shows that Revus also works well against the new strains 'Yellow 36' and 'Dark Green 37'. The good results of Revus are related to the strong preventive effect, the good fast rain resistance and the growing effect, which also protects the newly formed leaf. This makes Revus the ideal product to start with.

The advice for this season is therefore to start from a proven and trusted approach: start the first 4 to 6 sprayings with Revus at 0,6 liters per hectare. For seed potatoes, in combination with mineral oil, 0,5 liters per hectare can be assumed.
