Crop tour Weather

Flevoland received the most precipitation

June 11, 2019 - 3 comments

The fields of the Crop Tour all received a shower on Monday evening 10 June. It is striking that the plots in Flevoland in particular have had a lot of precipitation.

The Crop Tour plots in the east of the province of Flevoland received the most precipitation on Monday evening, 10 June. The onion plot in Dronten received 26,4 millimeters on Monday. The potato plot, which is also located in this municipality, received 33 millimeters.

The onion plot in Tollebeek (Noordoostpolder) also received quite a bit of precipitation on Monday 10 June: 16,8 millimeters. The onion plot in Zeewolde (in the south of Flevoland) received 19,6 millimeters on Monday evening.

The onion plot in Zeewolde (Flevoland) received 19,6 millimetres.

Lots of precipitation
Precipitation did not only fall in Flevoland on Monday, because every plot of the Gewastour had a number of millimeters. Incidentally, the precipitation amounts per plot were again quite variable. For example, only 0,8 millimeters fell on the potato plot in Spijk (Groningen), while the onion plot in Kimswerd (Friesland) still had 14 millimeters. The precipitation amounts in the south of the country were also lower than in Flevoland.

Rest of the Netherlands
As described above, there was a lot of precipitation, especially in Flevoland and in a small area around Emmen. As a result, the differences are very large, even within 1 municipality. There was also a lot of precipitation locally across the border (in Germany). Due to the dry weather, most of the water had disappeared again on Tuesday morning 11 June.

The precipitation fell very locally, making it difficult for the precipitation map to show the extremes.

Nonsense, photos taken during the heavy precipitation.
A few hours later water subsided again.
Plot previously rained down with hail, are first-class polder grounds.
