4 July 2019 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 1 reaction

On the plots of the Boerenbusiness Croptour saw considerably more rain in June than in 2018. Significant differences are also visible between the plots. The plot in Escharen even received half as much rainfall this year as last year.

There is a Sencrop weather post on every plot of the Crop Tour. It measures the precipitation, temperature and humidity on the plot. All data from this year has been compared with the data from the 2018 Crop Tour. This results in major differences.

Significantly more precipitation
The plot in Middenmeer (North Holland) received more than 8,5 times as much precipitation last month as in the same month last year. In addition, the plot in Scharendijke (Zeeland) received approximately 6 times as much rainfall in June as in June 2018. On the plot in Fijnaart (North Brabant), the difference compared to 2018 can even be called extreme, because there was almost 30 times as much rainfall here. water.

The precipitation amounts on the Gewastour plots in Spijk (Groningen), Dronten (Flevoland), Ens (Flevoland) and Hank (North Brabant), on the other hand, do not differ much from last year. The plot in Dronten received slightly less rainfall, while the other plots received slightly more than in 2018. However, the plot in Escharen (North Brabant) has to make do with half as much rainfall.

Your details
Irrigation is not included in the comparison, although it can be concluded that less water was irrigated in June 2019 than in June 2018. This year, the Crop Tour plots were only irrigated in the last days of June.

In addition, not all plots participated both this year and last year. For this reason, the data from the plot in Ens was compared with the data from the plot in Marknesse. The precipitation data from the parcel in Dronten was compared with the precipitation data from the parcel in Biddinghuizen.

with so many variables you cannot speak of data. saying that somewhere 8,5 times as much water has fallen does not mean anything, does that go from 1 to 8,5? this comes across as image filling and reporting that suits the industries. Please provide a realistic image of Farmers Business. If you want to say something meaningful about rain, results must be repeated at least 4 times
