Dutch Crop tour Weather

All Crop Tour Plots Receive Precipitation

8 July 2019 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

Some rain fell in almost all of the Netherlands last weekend. On the plots of the Boerenbusiness Croptour received between 0,8 and 5,6 millimeters of rain last weekend. Despite the fact that this is relatively little, the crops are grateful.

The most precipitation fell in the south of the Netherlands last weekend, although it is only a difference of 2 to 3 millimeters. About 4 millimeters or more fell in Flevoland and in the east of the province of Overijssel.

More precipitation due to irrigation
Significant precipitation amounts can be seen on the plots in Dronten (Flevoland), in Escharen (North Brabant) and in Oeffelt (North Brabant). This can be explained, given that these plots were irrigated last week. 0,6 millimeters fell on the plot in Dronten and 2,1 millimeters in Oeffelt. About 3,5 millimeters fell on the plot in Escharen.

Despite 3,5 millimeters of rain, the plot in Escharen is still irrigated.

Expectations
Monday, July 8, some small showers will pass over the country. Also, the weather forecast of Agroweather Wednesday 10 July and Thursday 11 July see an increased chance of precipitation.
