Boerenbusiness Awards for special achievements

7 August 2019 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 6 comments

Boerenbusiness, the online platform for top entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, is reaching out for the first time this year Boerenbusiness Awards out. With the Agribusiness Award and the Impact Award we want to highlight special achievements in the agricultural chain.

De Boerenbusiness Awards are presented on the National Economic Agricultural Congress on Wednesday 18 December in Amersfoort. 'The awards are intended as a compliment to a company and person who, with his or her actions, is able to improve the position of Dutch agricultural entrepreneurs in livestock farming and arable farming,' says Eric de Lijster, editor-in-chief of Boerenbusiness.NL. 'For companies and individuals who inspire and take the sector to a higher level with their innovative strength, sustainability and social commitment.'

De Agribusiness Awards is for an agribusiness company that makes a positive contribution to operational management and thus the return on an agricultural company. This can be done, for example, with an innovative product process, the development of an ingenious product or the setting up of a distinctive service. An investment that helps to improve the position of the farmer in the agricultural chain.

De Impact Awards is for the person who has a lot of impact with his or her actions in presenting and representing the Dutch agricultural sector. An ambassador who gains appreciation with his or her performance and who encourages, stimulates and makes agricultural entrepreneurs proud.

'Companies in arable farming and livestock farming are the epitome of adaptability to the many risks that they face,' says De Lijster. 'They operate in markets with often erratic price movements, have to deal with extreme weather, respond to social changes and, last but not least, act in the volatile political climate. That deserves respect. With the Boerenbusiness We want to put awards in the limelight for initiatives that help farmers in their entrepreneurship.'

I only see the Dutch state as a contender.
Because of their rash actions thousands of hectares. By withdrawing from agriculture for low-rise buildings and nature, they have caused an unprecedented land price increase, which is what keeps Dutch livestock and arable farming alive.

For the rest, there are only poodle prizes to be awarded, where it would be a shame if jury members were not allowed to compete for this prize.

@Hans you explain at once what those prices are intended for with this ultimate soured reaction, which is characteristic of the certainly somewhat older farming community.

Your reaction Trevor is characteristic of the representatives of the peasant periphery:

A realistic response to an acidifying explain.

In addition, I would like to leave the older farmer generation to be declared sour.

The people who have helped the whole of the Netherlands to a higher well-being, who have often reaped the fruits of their labor and capital injections afterwards, and now see that the current generation cannot do that, cannot keep up with the average Dutch person, reality isn't it?

Completely agree with Hans, former ECB CEO Draghi is also a contender. Low interest rates are the only chance of survival for the agricultural sector in the short term.
