Marianne Thieme leaves the House of Representatives

29 September 2019 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 26 comments

Marianne Thieme explains her position as party leader of the Party for the Animals. She announced this on Sunday during a party meeting of the Party for the Animals in the House of Representatives.

Thieme will leave the House of Representatives on 8 October, the party announced. Member of Parliament Esther Ouwehand will take over the party chairmanship.

No final ending
Thieme herself indicates that this step, after 17 years of political leadership, does not definitively end her political career. Outside parliament, she says she will continue to work for her ideals. She will remain associated with the Party for the Animals and will occupy another position within the party.

Marianne Thieme is one of the founders of the Party for the Animals. After the November 2006 elections, she took a seat in the Lower House, the Party for the Animals then won 2 seats in the House.

is it getting too hot under her feet

Now she has even more time to fly around the world, but that also serves a higher purpose.

Now I have to receive redundancy pay again now she will send everything from the background and it is not noticeable that those bitches are still in control we are not over it yet maybe it will bother us even more than now

Unfortunately. She has done a lot for the welfare of the animals and important vulnerable environment. She was very combative and looked after the interests of the silent animals that have no place in an animal-degrading world that man has made. Animals have no rights, but we are responsible for the welfare of the animals.
Klaiboer 30 September 2019
Dear Edwin, I don't know if you saw the program Onze Boerderij about farmer Annechien yesterday. Has had stables built for millions in collaboration with animal protection. The pigs there have everything a pig could wish for. Space light spout you name it there is only 1 small problem that they have not taken into account. And that is the consumer who refuses to pay a little more for sustainably grown pork. So first start making citizens aware that things have to be done differently and then the farmers, because we've known it for a long time.

What an incredible people you farmers are. Anyone who stands up for a better, much more sustainable agriculture and better living rules for animals is crazy in your eyes???
How you react to Thieme's departure is typical of your general mindset. ''We farmers are not doing anything wrong, it is the fault of all other citizens that Dutch agriculture has now come to be in such a lousy position and daylight.
It is not the fault of Thieme or other environmentally conscious people, but the fault of the common "industrial" farmers (good organic farmers are not guilty of this!!)
Only see dollar signs. More more produce more and keep shouting that you produce ooh so environmentally and animal-friendly.
As for farmer Annachien on our farm??? How can a sole proprietorship borrow millions of euros for such a mega stable like hers. The aerial footage showed a farm that can no longer be called a farm but that is a mega factory!
And to say that she has a heart for her animals.
Come on guys stop with that bullshit and really switch to sustainable agriculture that is built on a solid ecological basis (agro-ecology/organic agriculture) Yes that means a significant reduction in livestock, no more use of dangerous pesticides and fertilizer. produce food for the Dutch market and maybe something for the neighbors but not for the whole world????
Be a real farmer and then really farm. Smaller scale and ground-bound.
Yes, I am very angry with the intensive (normal) farmers with their factory stables, mega-fields with monoculture, and lack of biodiversity. A farm is a company or a company, just like other companies, you should do it sustainably. Don't whine for making the wrong stupid business and wrong financial decisions yourself. This is called business risk and many farmers have simply made the wrong entrepreneurial choices and are now whining and asking for financial support for their own mistakes.
What if all other Dutch companies would also demand subsidy money and financial aid??? Then the Dutch economy will soon be over.
So don't blame others, but look to yourself.

For Maxwell there are two choices: 1. Produce your own food / 2. Stop eating permanently. There are no more flavors dear Maxie, good luck!

Maxwell fits exactly into the idiotic mindset of the animal party, they are the greatest animal executioners out there, if the Pvdd was so good at animal welfare, they wouldn't have cheered when the mink ban was passed, but then they would have fought to house all the minks in the world in the Netherlands, simply give so much subsidy that the whole world would stop with it, except the Netherlands, then they would have ensured that the minks in China or something, under the rules of there be kept, but then they would have had the chance to do well in their eyes, so the conclusion can only be that these figures are only out to destroy Dutch agriculture, they don't care which lie they use, the agriculture must be destroyed.
Maxwell 6 October 2019
Just as I expected. Senseless desperate reactions of farmers in a bind. Sustainable organic farming can easily provide the whole of the Netherlands with food....nothing goat wool socks, that is an image that is maintained by the large farms and agricultural benefit recipients.
But if our little frog country wants to keep telling itself that it has to feed the world, then live in your own dream world for a long time. An unrealistic future and really untenable. Please continue to completely destroy Dutch agriculture. Business as usual and then don't switch to truly sustainable agriculture.
Maxwell 6 October 2019
I am not against good farming. And that is a sustainable ecological farming system and NOT the current unsustainable conventional system!.
I eat meat (organic of course. I don't have a big income but just eat a really good piece of organic meat three times a week, but not that nasty fried chicken, antibiotic pork steak or milked cow meat. Long live a real organic farming system and the fake farmers go nice move to Canada or something so you can nail things there!
Is the Netherlands nicely cleaned up by itself?
shoemakers 1 6 October 2019
I once heard that organic food is not healthy, it seems to affect your brain!
peter 6 October 2019
@maxwell migrants should not let them in these slaughter animals without stunning! It is also getting too full here in the Netherlands! A question for you, what work can citizens perform on these small-scale agricultural companies as you agree? Hugging cow? or weeding? mucking out the stable manually. Can you explain how those small farming businesses you outline become financially viable?

I am very curious how we should conduct the company according to you!?
also farmer 6 October 2019
When Minister Schouten spoke about circular agriculture a few weeks ago, after a day it was only about the food price and that it is unrealistic to expect that consumers will spend more than 10% of their income on food. In other words, agriculture must produce cheaply. How to reconcile this with small-scale farms is beyond me. Or does the farmer have to pay for the laughter?!
Jan 6 October 2019
Simple folks like Maxie aren't going to give up their luxuries to spend 20 instead of 10% of their income on food.

maxxwell, how often have you visited a livestock farmer. And I don't mean unsolicited…. you sound pretty biased
Maxwell 14 October 2019
I myself worked on a dairy farm until I saw that the conventional dairy farm was a dead end. I already saw the manure shower hanging.
Minister Schouten's circular agriculture means that the Dutch livestock population will shrink by at least 50%, so protest and block as much as you want.... the end result is that the Dutch agricultural system must be drastically changed, which is now completely unsustainable.
The sooner the thugs realize this, the sooner we can save the farmers because continuing on the old road will kill you! Wake up and get that!
Incredibly short-sighted and greedy people I see here on this complain forum. Do something really useful with your life and become an organic farmer. You will eventually earn more for your product. Nature benefits from it and so does your own health. No more Parkinson's disease or cancer or dementia only I'm afraid some here may already be a bit demented??? They keep repeating the same stupid and incorrect claims that organic farming is not viable. Read some more and you'll be amazed. The figures of the current organic farming sector do not lie. You just deserve better.
So come on Boys and girls switch and become an organic farmer. For yourself, nature, and your (grand) children
good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hans 14 October 2019
Maxwell, why do you believe so much in "Minister Schouten's circular economy", but why don't I hear from you about a total circular economy?
Why impose something on agriculture that all other economic sectors do not have to comply with?
Or do you think that other sectors do not bring huge environmental scandals, do not ruin the Earth with unnecessary emissions and with unnecessary transport ruin the air?

Because using 1 sector as a cloth for the bleeding makes no sense at all and will quickly cost the well-meaning their heads due to unfair competition from abroad.
