Forum for Democracy and the PVV, the 2 parties that have emphatically profiled themselves as pro-farmers in recent days, are winning slightly in the latest polls. CDA, which traditionally has a farmer's constituency, is also slightly more popular. The VDD remains by far the largest party.
If elections had been held on October 18, 2019, the VVD would have won 30 seats, according to the poll. This is 3 less than in the last elections to the House of Representatives in 2017. CDA, GroenLinks and PvdA all have 3 seats. For the CDA, that is 16 seat gain, compared to the poll at the beginning of September, but it loses 1 seats compared to 3.
D66 remains the same in poll
The PVV, whose leader Geert Wilders addressed the farmers on Wednesday October 16 at Malieveld/Koekamp, won 15 seats. This is 2 more than the previous poll, but still 5 less than in the elections in 2017. Forum for Democracy, now represented with 2 seats in parliament, is in the most recent poll at 12 seats. For the party of Thierry Baudet, who also spoke at Malieveld/Koekamp with fellow MP Theo Hiddema, this is one seat more than in the poll at the beginning of September.
D66 and the Party for the Animals remain tied in the poll. The two parties that are unpopular with farmers are holding 11 and 6 seats respectively. For D66 this is a loss of no less than 8 seats compared to the elections in 2017, the Party for the Animals wins one.
