Agriculture Collective: quickly providing nitrogen solutions

7 November 2019 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 14 comments

The Agricultural Collective wants to come up with solutions in the short term to break the nitrogen impasse in the Netherlands. The newly established collective, in which 11 Dutch farmers' representatives have united, reports this in a statement.

The covenant, of which Aalt Dijkhuizen is the intended chairman, is working on solutions for the nitrogen problem in which agriculture, in its own words, is not being irreparably damaged. The organizations within the collective are of the unanimous opinion that agriculture and horticulture are not the cause of the current nitrogen impasse, but can be part of the solution. "Agriculture and horticulture, an important pillar of our prosperity and quality of life in the countryside, must not become the burden of the bill."

According to the collective, an economic recession must be prevented. A condition for this is that the permit granting process must be resumed as soon as possible. The parties involved have agreed to make an inventory of all possible solutions. These are arranged, selected and elaborated at a subsequent meeting in order to arrive at solutions. The plan is then discussed with other parties involved, such as the central government, the provinces and the Nitrogen Taskforce, which was set up by VNO NCW and MKB Nederland.

Members of the Agricultural Collective are representatives of Agractie, Dutch Dairymen Board, Farmers Defense Force, LTO Nederland, NAJK, Dutch Arable Farming Union, Netwerk Grondig, the Dutch Federation of Noble Fur Animals, the Dutch Dairy Farmers' Union, the Dutch Poultry Farmers Union and the Pig Farm Producers Organization. .

Hi here with Bert. I think that it is quickly necessary to set up a Boerenpatij, That we also have a few seats in the second room, so we can also talk to you. Greetings BERT.....
Student 7 November 2019
All farmers together might represent just enough votes for one seat.. so I don't think it's the best way
peta 7 November 2019
Student you still have a lot to learn. The agricultural sector and related employment together can generate more than 15 seats. The CDA can already start drawing lots,
(because they won't be able to vote!) about who might stay after the elections.

aria 7 November 2019
Bert, maybe not such a bad idea, if everyone directly and indirectly working in the agricultural sector, and then citizens who care about the sector would vote for this, it could well cause a landslide.
farmer 7 November 2019
apparently that's the case: whoever has the nitrogen determines the course of affairs in the Netherlands, so 76 seats for the Boerenpartij
has 7 November 2019
we don't have a problem but the government. And another's problem should not be my problem. Let them solve the mess themselves, they also made it themselves.

Farmers just vote for the PVV who stand up for the workers, Dutch and hard-working farmers. Think like a farmer vote PVV
Pippi 11 November 2019
dream On. A Farmer's Party will win at most four or five seats and become a one-issue party again. Just defending the interests of the peasants against the tide of change.
No chance, no chance, no chance
It is better now to be ahead of the expected changes/transition in agriculture and to switch concretely to an ecological agricultural system as a smart farmer yourself.
Don't use temporary fake solutions like filters...etc. because that's a stay of execution. Go put all your attention, anger, energies and frustrations into the expected large-scale agricultural transition. Then we really achieve something together.
Don't bullshit but peel!!!!!
A better farming future starts with you!

fake solutions of filters pippie, the problem is that there is a fake problem, if the problem really existed organic farming would also have to apply these fake solutions, but our government discriminates against conventional agriculture to the bone, just ridiculous
Pippi 20 November 2019
Shoemakers 1
Why does our government discriminate against conventional agriculture????
What great nonsense!
If there is one sector in the Dutch economy that is continuously protected, it is the usual intensive large-scale agriculture in the Netherlands.
Enjoying protection and priority from CDA Ministers and VVD for years
Watching for years how the farmers cheat with manure, poisons and animal welfare.
Come on, it is precisely organic farming that is the victim of a lax right-wing government. Organic farming in the Netherlands has been put in a bad light for years by CDA, cattle feed companies and other large companies, LTO Nederland and other mainstream farmers' organizations.
Responsible ecological agriculture would be the solution, but does not get a foothold here due to the lobbying work of the wrong people
Ellen 20 November 2019
The current agricultural methodology has made our country great. Let Pippi Whisper himself buy a farm and dig manure on the wheelbarrow. If it succeeds, more will follow. We already have enough of those sideline calling bells.
Drent 20 November 2019
Pippi, what nonsense what you are saying, the manure supply and removal from farmers is all registered with RVO so there is little to cheat there, with the exception of a few traders. The control on poisons is also extremely strict, we are checked every year and residue samples are taken, in addition, we cannot buy authorized products from any supplier, again with the exception of citizens who have plenty of roundup in the wrong dosage. use. And you are talking about animal welfare, in recent years animal welfare has increased enormously compared to 15 years ago, of course there is still something possible and that will happen, but it cannot be done overnight. Organic is not the future, firstly, labor is way too expensive here and you can't find people for it, but I don't think you know how many weeds can grow on a plot
Farmer Dieuwke 21 November 2019
Teun, PVV, you come home from a cold fair. PVV has never achieved anything. A bit of mooing, bleating and whinnying. The Hague bluff.

Well Dieuwke, the so-called pro agricultural parties have now also left us quite out in the cold and let their ears hang to Jesse claved to stay in the plush. So on the back of agriculture. And then also take seriously a paper problem created by stupid politicians. Well then, as far as I'm concerned, you are no longer worth a vote and you should be rejected at the next election!
You can no longer respond.
